Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Home Health position requiring 2+ years of home health experience and proficiency in Epic and OASIS documentation.
Details
- Home health setting serving patients in their homes across Roanoke City, Roanoke County, Salem, Catawba, Bent Mountain, Boones Mill, Fincastle, New Castle, Daleville, Troutville, and surrounding rural areas within a 25-mile radius
- Patient population includes adults of all ages with conditions such as wound care, IV therapy, orthopedic needs, chronic disease, heart failure, and Alzheimer's/Dementia
- Average of 6 patient visits per day
- Services include adult home health and home infusion
- Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (5x8-hour shifts); no weekend requirement
- Charting via Epic; OASIS assessment experience required
- Office is based in Roanoke with potential floating to other offices as needed
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active Virginia state RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand; pending license accepted only if the candidate holds a single-state license from a non-compact state
- Current BLS certification
- Minimum 2 years of home health experience required
- Proficiency in nursing assessment and OASIS data collection required
- Epic EMR experience required
- IV skills required: peripheral IV care, central line and port care, phlebotomy, and IV starts
- Respiratory skills required: chest tube care, nebulizer use, oxygen administration, and trach care
- GI skills required: colostomy/ileostomy care, feeding tube management, G-site care, and NG tube care
- GU skills required: post AV fistula/shunt care, suprapubic catheter insertion and care, and urinary catheter insertion and care
- Medication administration required: intradermal, IM, IV infusions, PCA pump, subcutaneous, and pain scale assessment
- Documentation proficiency required: admission assessment, case management, discharge, recertification, transfer, and standard visit notes
- Valid driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration
- Two professional references required for consideration
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include conducting home visits for wound care, IV therapy, orthopedic care, chronic disease management, heart failure monitoring, and Alzheimer's/Dementia care
- All time-off requests must be submitted at the time of application; requests are only honored if approved by the facility at the time of booking
- Local candidates within 100 miles are accepted but are limited to one 13-week contract with no extension eligibility; candidates residing within 50 miles are subject to a reduced bill rate
