Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Pediatrics Float Pool position requiring Level 1 Trauma experience and the ability to float across all children's acute care units on a night shift schedule.

Details

• Hospital-based pediatric float pool position covering multiple acute care units
• Float assignments include surgical, behavioral health, med specialty (GI, neuro, respiratory), hematology/oncology, step-down, and cardiac pediatrics units
• May float to NICU for feeder-grower patients only (low acuity; traditional NICU patients excluded)
• Patient population includes pediatric patients ranging from low to complex acuity
• Tracheostomy care, high-flow oxygen therapy, and infusion experience utilized in this role
• Nights shift, 12-hour days, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
• Weekend and holiday coverage required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC) required
• Current BLS and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association required
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Experience with tracheostomy care, high-flow oxygen therapy, and infusion required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Full date of birth required for consideration
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Responsible for managing an assigned group of pediatric patients across multiple specialty units
• Administers medications, initiates and monitors IV infusions and blood products, and assists physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Serves as a first-line resource for clinical skills across the float pool
• Communicates care plans and discharge instructions with patients and families
• BSN from a board-approved program is preferred
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month separation period after completing 26 weeks (one contract plus one extension) before being eligible to return
• Compliance with onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, medical requirements) must begin immediately upon offer acceptance — start dates will not be adjusted for non-compliance
