Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Pediatrics Float Pool position requiring Level 1 Trauma experience and the ability to float across all children's acute care units on a night shift schedule.
Details
- Hospital-based pediatric float pool covering multiple acute care units
- Float units include surgical, behavioral health, med specialty (GI, neuro, respiratory), hem/onc, step-down, and cardiac peds
- May float to NICU for feeder-grower/low-acuity patients only — traditional NICU acuity is not expected
- Patients range from low to complex acuity across pediatric specialties
- Night shift, 12-hour days, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
- Weekend and holiday coverage required
Requirements
- Active RN license (Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or eNLC compact license) currently in hand
- Current BLS and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association required
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- Experience with trach care, high-flow oxygen, and IV infusion required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
Additional Information
- Provides nursing care to pediatric patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
- Responsibilities include administering medications, initiating and monitoring IV infusions and blood products, and obtaining physiological data
- Collaborates with physicians during patient exams and minor diagnostic procedures
- Educates patients and families on care plans and hospital procedures, including at discharge
- Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
- BSN from a board-approved program is preferred
- Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month separation period after 26 weeks of total contract time before being eligible for a new contract
- Compliance with onboarding requirements (drug screens, background checks, medical requirements) must begin immediately upon offer acceptance — compliance deadlines are strictly enforced
