Description
American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a 4-week Oncology (Med/Surg) assignment on a night shift unit, requiring prior travel experience and recent Epic proficiency.
Details
- Work setting is an inpatient oncology unit (Miller 5) within a large academic teaching hospital
- Patient population includes oncology patients with cancer-related and symptomatic care needs
- Clinical procedures include blood product administration, IV antibiotic and anticoagulant infusions, chemotherapy administration, central line care and maintenance, IV starts, tube feedings, and telemetry monitoring (no monitor techs)
- 12-hour night shifts, scheduled Monday through Sunday
- No block scheduling permitted for any reason
- Epic EMR experience from within the past 2 years is required
Requirements
- Active VT or Compact RN license required; NY license with proof of pending status will also be considered
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
- Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Experience with oncology or a similar specialty environment strongly preferred
- Prior experience in a large academic teaching facility required
- Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years is required and non-negotiable
- Two professional references from a Nurse Manager and/or Supervisor required — at least one from within the past 6 months and one from within the past year of employment
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide med/surg oncology nursing care including chemotherapy, infusion therapy, telemetry monitoring, and central line management
- Public transportation is not accessible in this area — a personal or rental vehicle is strongly recommended
- Vehicles should be equipped with all-season or snow tires during November through April
- Complete work history including bed count, EMR, facility type, and trauma level must be provided; all employment gaps over 30 days must be explained
- This is a 4-week assignment
