Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Stepdown/Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring a minimum of 2 years of cardiac telemetry experience and an active DC RN license.
Details
- 48-bed cardiac-focused stepdown unit within a hospital setting, including 4 pulmonary care beds and 10 cardiac surgery beds (travelers not required to accept cardiac surgery assignments)
- Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)
- Patient population includes CHF, NSTEMI, arrhythmias, and vascular surgery diagnoses
- Frequent IV drip management includes Heparin, Milrinone, Lasix, and Bumex
- Charting performed in Cerner EMR
Requirements
- Active RN license in the District of Columbia (DC) required — no pending licenses accepted
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) — AHA-issued certifications only
- Minimum 2 years of cardiac telemetry RN experience in a U.S. hospital required
- Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program required
- BSN highly desired
- Cerner EMR experience required
- U.S. Social Security Number required for consideration
- Two manager or supervisor references preferred, verifying experience within the past 12 months, with at least one from the most recent employer
- Date of birth required for consideration
Additional Information
- Candidates must reside more than 25 miles from the facility to be eligible for this travel position
- CPI certification is mandated for this position — confirm availability of facility-based training with your recruiter
