Description

American Traveler is hiring a Travel Echo Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer with 4+ years of experience and RDCS or RCS/ACS/RCCS certification for a 13-week assignment at an academic health system.

Details

• Outpatient cardiac sonography setting within a large academic health system
• 36 hours per week, 12 hours per day, 3 days per week
• Schedule is either 5x8 shifts from 7:30 AM–4:00 PM or 4x10 shifts from 7:30 AM–6:00 PM
• On-call required 1 day per week and one weekend per month
• 1 weekend shift required during the contract, to be swapped for weekday shifts
• Holiday coverage may be required per facility scheduling needs

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of echo/cardiac sonography experience
• Accredited Associate's Degree in Sonography, Radiology, or a related field — OR — completion of a 12-month ultrasound program
• Current BLS certification required
• One of the following certifications required: RDCS (through ARDMS) or RCS, ACS, and RCCS (through CCI)
• License required if applicable
• Two professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Perform cardiac ultrasound evaluations and communicate acute findings to the cardiologist for interpretation
• Obtain pertinent patient health history prior to each examination
• Responsible for timely room preparation and equipment setup between procedures
• Troubleshoot and report equipment issues to the appropriate supervisor
• May assist with staff training and education
• Background check and drug screen are required prior to start; candidates should be prepared to complete drug screening within 24 hours of commitment
