Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a CVICU position requiring a minimum of 2 years of CVICU experience, including IABP and Impella, for a night shift contract in Maryland.
Details
- 16-week contract in a hospital CVICU setting
- Adult and geriatric patient population with complex cardiovascular diagnoses including cardiogenic shock, cardiac arrest, heart failure, cardiac arrhythmias (heart blocks, rhythm disruptions), MI, pulmonary hypertension, LVAD and heart transplant workups, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, and hypertensive urgency/emergency
- 15-bed unit with an average daily census of 10
- Patient ratio of 1:1, up to 1:3 with stable, lower-acuity patients
- Specialized procedures include bedside central line and A-line insertions, bronchoscopy, chest tube insertion, Swan/PA catheter insertion, targeted temperature management, and CRRT
- Specialized equipment includes Impella, VAD, IABP, CRRT, ventilators, cooling devices, and CCO monitors
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday coverage required as scheduled
- Floating required within the specialty to lower-acuity units as needed
- No scheduled on-call shifts required
Requirements
- Active RN license for Maryland (MD state license or compact equivalent) currently in hand
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, CPI, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- CCRN certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience required
- Hands-on experience with IABP and Impella required
Additional Information
- First-time travelers with strong CVICU skills and experience, including IABP and Impella, will be considered
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Time-off requests must be disclosed at the time of initial consideration
