Description
American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist for an acute care radiology department, requiring 2+ years of experience, ARRT (R)(CT) certification, and proficiency with Epic EMR and Siemens CT equipment.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting within a Radiology/CT department
- Department has 1 CT scanner: a 16-slice Siemens Emotion with a Bracco injector
- Imaging studies include full-body CT (CTA chest, abdomen, pelvis, stroke protocol), general radiography (chest X-ray, knee, spine, skull), and contrast-enhanced CT exams
- Average of 1–15 scans/studies per day
- IV placement required for outpatients; ED staff handles IV starts for ED patients
- On-site radiologist available three days per week (8:00–8:30 AM); offsite coverage and Real Radiology utilized for remaining days and after hours
- Preferred schedule is 5x8-hour shifts, Monday–Friday with varying start times (8:30 AM–5:00 PM or 9:30 AM–6:00 PM); alternative 4x9 or 4x10 schedules may also be considered
- One weekend shift per month required
- On-call required at least once per week and one weekend per month, with a 30-minute response time
- Position may require floating to Radiology, CT, and Non-Invasive areas (Holters, EKGs, Zio Monitors), as well as assistance with scheduling and registration
- EMR: Epic (required); PACS: McKesson (transitioning to Merge PACS)
- Department-specific equipment includes Siemens RF & CT, Carestream DRX Portable, Phillips Ultrasound, and GE MAC 5500 EKG
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of CT Technologist experience required
- Active ARRT (R)(CT) certification required; pending certifications will not be accepted
- Current BLS certification required
- Proficiency with IV placement required
- Experience with Siemens CT equipment preferred
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Active state or compact (NLC) license required if applicable; pending licenses will not be accepted
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; a copy of a valid driver's license is required for consideration to verify permanent address
- Two professional references required for consideration: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
- Candidates may not be currently employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) at any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity
Additional Information
- Perform CT and general radiography studies including angio CT protocols, contrast-enhanced exams, and standard X-rays across body, ortho, and neuro applications
- Assist with non-invasive cardiac monitoring procedures (Holters, EKGs, Zio Monitors) and support scheduling and registration as needed
- Department-specific orientation is provided
- Steel gray scrubs are required; scrubs are not provided
- Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas; refusal to remove them may result in contract termination
- Holiday coverage may be requested, particularly for Memorial Day weekend
- Candidates with additional ultrasound experience and ARDMS (AB)(OB)/RVT certification are a plus, though not required
- Candidates who were previously employed PRN through outside staffing firms at CommonSpirit-affiliated facilities will be considered
