Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Pediatric Medical Specialty unit, requiring at least one year of RN experience and AHA-issued BLS and PALS certifications.

Details

  • Inpatient hospital setting in a Pediatric Medical Specialty unit
  • Night shift, 12-hour days, 3 days per week (36 hours per week)
  • 13-week contract

Requirements

  • Active RN license (OK state or eNLC compact) required
  • Current BLS and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) required — no other issuers accepted
  • Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN or higher preferred
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — no local candidates
  • Full date of birth (DOB) required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include assuming care for an assigned group of pediatric patients, administering medications, initiating and monitoring IV infusions and blood products, and documenting patient responses to nursing interventions
  • Assists physicians during examinations and minor diagnostic procedures, monitors physiological data, and intervenes as necessary
  • Interacts with patients and families to communicate care plans, hospital procedures, and discharge instructions; makes referrals and delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
  • Travelers who have previously worked at this facility may only extend once, for a maximum total of 26 weeks; after 26 weeks, a 6-month separation period is required before being eligible for a new contract
