Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical ICU (MICU) position at a Level II Trauma Center, requiring Epic proficiency and a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience.
Details
- Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM)
- High-acuity, fast-paced MICU caring for medically complex, critically ill patients
- Patient population includes respiratory failure requiring noninvasive or mechanical ventilation, post-cardiac arrest with TTM, multisystem organ failure, various shock states, CVA post-tPA, COVID, ARDS, DKA, and ETOH withdrawal
- Standard nurse-to-patient ratio is 2:1; may increase to 4:1 when boarding patients awaiting transfer to inpatient units
- Frequently performed bedside procedures include central and arterial line placements, chest tube placement, rapid sequence intubation, para- and thoracentesis, and code blue response
- One CNA per shift available for support
- Charting via Epic (experience required)
- Weekend shifts required
- Floating to telemetry units may be required based on census, though it is expected to be rare
- Local candidates are not accepted for this position
Requirements
- Active WA state RN license or compact RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- At least 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty or setting
- Active professional license at time of consideration
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- 571-bed Level II Trauma Center (across both campuses)
- Travelers must be prepared to float between all facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in assignment termination
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
- Scrubs may be any color; reddish-orange is not permitted
- Parking is facility-paid
- Up to 2 RTO requests may be pre-approved; all RTO must be declared prior to submission as post-offer requests may be denied
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
