Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Medical/Telemetry position in Wichita, KS, requiring a minimum of 1 year of acute care telemetry experience and active BLS and ACLS certifications.
Details
- 9 Tower Medical/Telemetry unit located on the 9th floor of the main hospital building in Wichita, KS
- 29-bed unit staffed with 5 RNs and 3 Patient Care Techs per shift
- Patient ratio is 1:6
- Night shift hours: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 13-week contract
- Equipment includes PCA pumps and IV pumps
- EMR: Meditech (experience preferred)
- Procedures performed on the unit include central line management and medication drips
Requirements
- Active RN license in Kansas or a compact state currently in hand
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of assignment start)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
- Minimum 1 year of recent acute care hospital telemetry experience required
- Minimum 2 years of overall clinical RN experience required
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more in the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Meditech EMR experience is preferred
- Ideal candidates are positive, independent, and demonstrate strong critical thinking skills with a priority on hands-on patient care
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
- No previous permanent employment at the facility should be a factor for consideration
