Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Step Down Unit position in Oklahoma City, OK, requiring at least one year of Med/Surg or Step Down experience and an active OK or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in a Med Specialty Step Down unit within a hospital setting
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
• Med/Surg and Step Down patient population with varying levels of acuity
• MS/SD experience required; ICU experience preferred

Requirements

• Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact (eNLC) RN license
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required; all certifications must be AHA-issued
• Minimum of 1 year of Med/Surg or Step Down nursing experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Proficiency in organizing, planning, and evaluating nursing care for patients with simple to complex health needs
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include assessing and managing an assigned patient group, documenting responses to interventions and treatments, administering medications, and monitoring IV infusions and blood products
• Collaborates with physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Communicates care plans and discharge instructions to patients and families
• Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month separation period before being eligible for a new contract (after a maximum of 26 weeks/one extension)
• Compliance with onboarding requirements (drug screens, background checks, medical requirements) must be completed promptly — the facility does not allow start date changes for non-compliant travelers
