Description
American Traveler is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer for a general ultrasound unit with required experience in pediatric and transplant imaging, including Epic EMR proficiency.
Details
- Acute care hospital ultrasound department handling a diverse mix of emergent and specialized cases
- Pediatric emergent cases include appendicitis, pyloric stenosis, intussusception, torsion, and occasional hip effusion
- Transplant program imaging for kidney, liver, and occasional pancreas transplants
- Additional case types include NICU neonatal head ultrasounds, occasional breast ultrasounds (mastitis/abscess), and OB exams primarily in the first trimester with occasional limited 2nd/3rd trimester exams
- Ultrasound-guided needle procedures are not expected; paracentesis may occur on rare occasions
- Equipment includes GE E10 in exam rooms, GE Fortis portable unit, GE S8 portable unit, and Trophon 2 high-level disinfection system
- EMR systems: Epic and Philips VUE PACS
- Night shift schedule: 4x10-hour shifts, Monday–Thursday, 8:00 PM–6:00 AM
- May be required to float to other units or campuses within the health system based on census needs, limited to areas where competencies have been demonstrated
Requirements
- Current BLS and ARDMS certifications required
- Minimum of 1 year of experience with Epic EMR required
- Pediatric ultrasound experience required, including emergent cases
- Transplant ultrasound experience required (kidney, liver)
- Ability to perform both pediatric and transplant imaging
- License required if applicable
- Two professional references required for consideration
- Driver's license and Social Security Number required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers will be considered provided they have the required pediatric and transplant experience
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the contracted campus to be eligible for this position (night shift ultrasound tech role falls under the Exception 2 mileage rule)
- Hunter green scrubs required
