Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Pediatrics RN for a 13-week travel contract in Baltimore, MD, with required trach/vent experience and alternating day/night shifts.
Details
- Pediatrics unit in a hospital setting specializing in neonatal through pediatric patient populations
- Patient diagnoses include prematurity, apnea of prematurity (AOP), retinopathy of prematurity (ROP), bronchopulmonary/chronic lung disease (BLD/CLD), cardiac defects, feeding issues, neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS), and iatrogenic NAS
- Patient age groups include neonates, infants, and pediatric patients
- Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:3, up to 1:4 for lower acuity patients
- Special equipment includes tracheostomy/ventilators, PICCs/central lines, and TPN/intralipids
- Alternating day and night shifts: days 7:00–19:00 and nights 19:30–7:30 (3x12-hour shifts, 36 hours/week)
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday coverage required as scheduled
- Floating within the specialty and sister units as needed
- No on-call responsibilities
Requirements
- Active RN license in Maryland (MD) or a Compact license recognized in MD
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification required
- Minimum 2 years of pediatric nursing experience required
- Hands-on experience with tracheostomy and ventilator management required
- Experience with PICCs, central lines, and TPN/intralipids required
