Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Post Acute Long Term Care position at a skilled nursing facility in Maine, working nights with a minimum of 2 years of RN experience required.
Details
- Work setting is a post-acute long-term care and skilled nursing facility (SNF)
- Available units include a 31-bed Alzheimer's/dementia specialized unit (3 East), a 42-bed Transitional Rehabilitation Unit (2nd floor), and a 42-bed long-term care unit (3 West)
- 3 East focuses on residents requiring long-term placement, utilizing verbal and non-verbal communication techniques tailored to Alzheimer's/dementia care
- The Transitional Rehabilitation Unit serves patients recovering from fractures, joint replacements, back surgery, stroke, and similar conditions requiring short-term skilled nursing and rehab services
- Nursing services on the rehab unit include IV therapy, wound care, and geriatric assessment and management
- 3 West provides long-term care in a home-like environment for residents requiring ongoing placement
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Flexibility to float to other units as needed
- Coverage required across a 24/7 operation
Requirements
- Active ME RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Current BLS/BCLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
- Strong teamwork and communication skills required
- Medical terminology knowledge preferred
- No previous employment at this facility will be accepted
Additional Information
- Provide direct and indirect nursing care in partnership with residents and interdisciplinary care teams to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment
- Care responsibilities may include IV therapy, wound care, and geriatric assessment depending on unit assignment
- Understanding of Alzheimer's/dementia-related behaviors and communication strategies is beneficial for the 3 East unit
- Candidates with any licensure violations or hits will not be considered
- Previous employees of this facility are not eligible for this position
