Description
American Traveler is hiring an Echo Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer with 2+ years of echo experience, including transthoracic echocardiography and dobutamine stress echocardiography, for a 13-week travel assignment in Boston, MA.
Details
- Echocardiography department within a large academic medical center in Boston, MA
- Performs non-invasive diagnostic cardiovascular testing in support of quality patient care
- Procedures include transthoracic echocardiography, dobutamine stress echocardiography, and imaging using phono-apexcardiograms, duplex, and ultrasound equipment
- 5 eight-hour day shifts per week, 40 hours per week
- Every other weekend rotation required
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of echo experience, specifically with transthoracic echocardiography and dobutamine stress echocardiography
- Active RDMS certification required
- Current BLS required
- Active MA state license required if applicable
- Knowledge of cardiology, medical terminology, basic physics, biology, and anatomy
- 2 professional references required for consideration — at least one must be manager-level or above (listed as 'Manager,' not 'Supervisor'), and must include a performance evaluation; one evaluation must be within the last 12 months, the other within 3 years
- A copy of a valid driver's license is required for consideration
Additional Information
- Responsible for preliminary echocardiographic measurements, summarizing diagnostic data, and communicating findings to the manager or requesting physician
- Must maintain strict confidentiality of all personal and health-sensitive information
- Bilingual or multilingual skills appropriate to the patient population served are a plus
- At least one reference should ideally come from a most recent temporary or travel assignment; references from fellow travelers are not accepted
- Candidates must live 30 miles or more from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates
