Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Unit (MSU) position requiring at least 3 years of med-surg experience and comfort with both adult and pediatric patients.

Details

• 20-bed Medical Surgical Unit (MSU) serving adult geriatric and pediatric patients
• Patient ratios are typically 4:1 with a maximum of 5:1 for non-COVID patients; 2:1 typically and 3:1 maximum for COVID patients
• Primary shift is 12-hour days; must be flexible to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needs change
• Typical schedule alternates between 36-hour and 48-hour weeks, with up to 1 on-call shift per week
• Maximum of two (2) shift call-offs allowed for the duration of the assignment
• Floating to other qualified departments is expected on occasion, which may include taking a full patient load or performing task-oriented duties such as answering call lights
• May be assigned to assist with Flu Immunization clinic coverage as needed
• 13-week assignment

Requirements

• Active AZ RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications required: BLS (American Heart Association), ACLS, and PALS
• Minimum 3 years of med-surg experience required
• Minimum 1 year of pediatric experience required
• Must be comfortable and competent caring for both adult and pediatric patients

Additional Information

• Orientation is held on Mondays only; missing the compliance deadline will result in being moved to the following scheduled New Employee Orientation
• Travelers are expected to attend staff meetings
