Description
American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist for a Vascular Interventional Radiology position requiring ARRT certification, BLS/ACLS, and experience in a procedural setting at a Level 1 Trauma facility.
Details
- Vascular Interventional Radiology department within a Heart & Vascular Institute at a Level 1 Trauma hospital
- Patient population includes those requiring invasive cardiology or invasive radiology studies
- Procedures include peripheral vascular work, venous central lines, tube changes, embolization (venous and arterial), venous thrombectomy, dialysis access (AV fistulas, tunneled dialysis catheters, peritoneal dialysis catheters), tube access and changes (G-tube, Chole, Neph, Biliary, Abscess, SPC), and neuro cases (cerebral arterial/venous, kyphoplasty)
- Experience with Interventional Neurology is preferred
- 4x9-hour day shifts, Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- Weekend and holiday coverage on a call rotation basis
- Epic EMR — experience required
- No floating requirement
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in a related field or Certificate in Radiologic Technology
- ARRT (R) certification required
- BLS and ACLS (American Heart Association) required
- IEMA Radiography License (Illinois) required — state license required if applicable
- Minimum 1 year of relevant Radiologic Technology experience in a procedural or interventional setting
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Ability to work around and maintain a sterile field during procedures
- Ability to pull supplies for procedures
- Manual dexterity to handle small supplies
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include assisting physicians with all IR procedures, administering contrast material via existing IV line or venipuncture, assessing patients for allergies, and accurately communicating intra-procedural medication doses, radiation, and sponge/sharp counts to the procedural nurse
- Performs on-call duties and variable shifts as assigned to meet department needs
- Compiles pertinent clinical information and accurately documents patient care throughout procedures
- Candidates who have been on assignment with this health system for 1 continuous year must take a 6-month break before returning to any location within the system
- RTO is not to exceed 7 days per 13-week contract
- First-time travelers are not explicitly excluded, but procedural IR experience is strongly preferred
