Description
American Traveler is seeking a licensed RN for a Med/Surg Overflow unit position in Urbana, IL, requiring a minimum of 1 year of nursing experience, Epic EMR proficiency, and Level 1 Trauma experience.

- Inpatient Med/Surg Overflow unit in a hospital setting
- Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)
- Weekend shifts required as needed
- Holiday shifts required as needed
- Epic EMR used; experience required
- Level 1 Trauma facility experience required
- No floating requirements
Requirements
- Active Illinois RN license in good standing; temporary license accepted
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- ACLS certification
- Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience
- ASN required; BSN preferred
- Epic EMR experience required
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include completing patient admissions and assessments, developing and modifying individualized care plans, and documenting care in accordance with unit standards
- Administers medications using the 5 Rights and maintains compliance with safety measures including fall precautions, pressure ulcer prevention, and isolation protocols
- Delegates tasks to Healthcare Technicians (HCTs) and validates completion throughout the shift
- Conducts bedside shift report handoffs and updates patient communication boards at each shift change
- Supports timely admission and discharge of observation-status patients and facilitates patient testing to expedite discharge planning
- Candidate selection involves a leader interview with the facility
- RTO not to exceed 7 days per 13-week contract
- Contingent workers may not remain on continuous assignment at Carle Health for more than 1 year; a 6-month break in service is required before returning to any Carle Health location after that threshold is reached
