Description
American Traveler is hiring a Nuclear Medicine Technologist with at least 1 year of experience to work in a hospital-based Nuclear Medicine department in Paducah, KY.
Details
- Hospital-based Nuclear Medicine department within a Diagnostic and Imaging Services setting
- Rotation through nuclear cardiology, main nuclear, and PET areas on a routine basis
- Procedures include nuclear medicine, PET examinations, and administration of radiopharmaceuticals
- Uses Epic EMR
- Monday through Friday, first shift day schedule, 8-hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- 40 hours per week
- May rotate shifts and call as required
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience required (5 years preferred)
- Technical Diploma from an ARRT-recognized accredited institution or a JRCNMT-accredited program
- Current BLS certification required
- NMTCB (NMT) or ARRT Nuclear Medicine Technology (N) certification required
- Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (KBMIRT) Nuclear Medicine License required if applicable
Additional Information
- Oversees daily patient flow through the department and coordinates daily exam assignments under the direction of the department supervisor
- Collects patient histories, verifies patient identity and orders, and communicates with radiologists and care team members as needed
- Performs radiopharmaceutical preparation and administration under radiologist direction
- Maintains quality control on all assigned instrumentation and performs computerized image data manipulation for interpretation and archiving
- Maintains records of radionuclide receipts, use, storage, and disposal in compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Assists with ACR accreditation submissions including clinical image selection and data collection
- Assists in equipment calibration, radionuclide assay operation, and reporting of equipment malfunctions
- May be responsible for specific instructional duties in the School of Radiologic Technology
