Description

American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist with 2+ years of recent specialty experience for a night shift contract at an acute care hospital, requiring Siemens CT proficiency and the ability to perform diagnostic X-rays.

Details

  • 74-bed acute care hospital setting
  • CT Scan unit with exposure to a broad range of body systems and trauma cases
  • Patient populations include adult acute care, adult outpatient, pediatric acute care, ICU, and emergency department patients
  • Level I and Level II Trauma experience required
  • Procedures include CT of the abdomen, pelvis, chest, head, sinuses, soft tissue neck, carotid, cervical, lumbar, thoracic, and musculoskeletal trauma, as well as vascular CTA, brain perfusion, 3D rendering, multiplanar reconstruction (MPR), and region of interest (ROI) measurement
  • Siemens CT and Carestream Portable X-ray and Siemens DR X-ray systems in use
  • Charting via Epic
  • Night shifts: 5:30 PM – 6:00 AM, Thursday through Saturday (3x12-hour shifts)
  • Blocked weekend schedule
  • No on-call required
  • Regular floating between departments, units, and facilities may be required
  • Free parking available on-site

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of recent CT specialty experience required, with at least 1 full year of in-specialty experience within the past 12 months and no employment gap greater than 90 days in the past year
  • Active BLS and ARRT (R) certifications required
  • ARRT (CT) certification preferred
  • Both Kansas and Missouri licenses, or a compact license, must be in hand at time of consideration, as floating between facilities may be required
  • License required if applicable
  • Proficiency with Siemens CT equipment required
  • Ability to perform diagnostic X-rays required
  • Experience with PACS, isolation precautions, contrast media preparation and/or administration, and radiation safety required
  • Candidates residing within a 50-mile radius of the facility are considered local and are not eligible for this position
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
  • 2 professional references required: at least one must be at the supervisor level or above; the second may be a charge RN; all references must be from individuals who have worked with the candidate within the past year

Additional Information

  • Perform a wide range of CT imaging procedures including trauma, vascular, neurological, musculoskeletal, and body imaging studies
  • Responsibilities include preparation and administration of contrast media, radiation safety compliance, and advanced post-processing techniques such as 3D rendering, MPR, and ROI measurement
  • No travel partners accepted for this position
  • RTO is capped at 7 days for the duration of the contract
  • Royal Blue scrubs required; candidates are encouraged to bring their own as facility supply is limited
  • Completion of facility compliance modules (approximately 10–15 hours) is required prior to the start date
  • Drug screening is required; a diluted or positive result that cannot be cleared may result in cancellation and a 6-month waiting period before reapplying
