Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a CA RN license, NRP certification, and at least 2 years of L&D experience including C-section circulation and postpartum care.

Details

• Labor & Delivery unit of an acute care hospital setting
• Unit performs approximately 1,450 births per year with a large midwifery practice
• Supported birth options include water labor and water births, birth slings, intermittent monitoring, epidurals, and cesarean sections
• Baby Friendly designated unit with a low C-section and epidural rate, emphasizing physiologic birth support
• Couplet care model with a Level 1 nursery for stabilization and/or transfer
• Candidates must be willing to work in all areas: L&D, circulating C-sections, recovery, and postpartum
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
• Block scheduling available based on staffing needs

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, NRP, and Fetal Monitoring
• Minimum 2 years of recent L&D experience, including circulating C-sections, recoveries, and postpartum
• Willingness to work across all unit areas including L&D, C-section circulation, recovery, and postpartum
• Experience with Level 1 nursery and lactation is desired but not required

Additional Information

• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have been away for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Only 1 holiday off request will be approved for the duration of the assignment
• Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are subject to a local pay rate
• 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year are required for consideration
• Copies of all certifications are required for consideration
