Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a CA RN license, NRP, and Fetal Monitoring certification, with experience supporting physiologic birth practices.

Details

• Labor & Delivery unit in a hospital setting with approximately 1,450 births per year
• Unit features a large midwifery practice with water labor and water births, birth slings, intermittent monitoring, epidurals, and cesarean section circulating responsibilities
• Baby Friendly designated unit with a low C/S and epidural rate, emphasizing physiologic birth support
• Couplet care model with a Level 1 nursery for stabilization and/or transfer
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
• Block scheduling available based on staffing needs
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, NRP, and Fetal Monitoring
• Minimum 2 years of recent L&D experience, including circulating C-sections, recoveries, and postpartum care
• Must be willing to work across all areas: L&D, circulating C-sections, recovery, and postpartum
• Experience with Level 1 nursery and lactation is desired but not required
• 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration
• Copies of all certifications required for consideration

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel pay rate
• Previous employees or travelers must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Only 1 holiday RTO request will be approved for the duration of the assignment
• First-time travelers are not explicitly excluded — 2 years of relevant experience is the key requirement
