Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Progressive Care Unit (Step-Down/PCU) position in Indiana, working nights on a 12-week contract with every-other-weekend requirements.

Details

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Step-Down setting within a hospital environment
• Patient population spans all ages, from infancy through geriatric
• Night shift schedule: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM (1830–0700)
• 3 nights per week, 12 hours per shift
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required
• Floating to other departments may be required if staffing needs are met
• 12-week contract

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license in Indiana or a compact state license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification required
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety needs across all patient populations
• Proficiency or ability to be trained in relevant computer systems and clinical applications

Additional Information

• Implements the full nursing process — assessment, care planning, intervention, and evaluation — for assigned patients
• Collaborates with an inter-professional care team to coordinate transitions of care and optimize patient outcomes
• Participates in unit-based and hospital shared governance councils and continuous quality improvement initiatives
• Serves as a resource and role model for colleagues, including supporting orientation of new staff members
• Previous nursing experience is preferred but not required — first-time travelers are welcome to apply
