Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Med/Surg position at a Level II Trauma hospital in Marquette, MI, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and an active MI RN license.
Details
- Acute Medical/Surgical unit on the 6th floor of a 225-bed specialty care hospital
- Level II Trauma Center offering a wide range of specialty services including Heart & Vascular, Cancer Care, Brain & Spine, Behavioral Health, and Women's Health
- Adult and geriatric patient population (ages 18+)
- Patient ratio of 5:1 to 6:1
- Equipment includes telemetry monitors, Baxter IV pumps, Kangaroo pumps, bladder scanners, and Dynamaps
- Cerner EHR in use
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Rotating weekend requirements
- Occasional floating to like units required
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active MI RN license required
- Active American Heart Association (AHA) BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg RN experience required
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Strong critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a high-stress environment
- Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
- Candidates must reside 60+ miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate
Additional Information
- BSN is preferred for this role
- Orientation is held on a bi-weekly schedule
- Scrub color is Galaxy Blue; Navy is also acceptable
- Fingernails must be kept clean and at a reasonable length per Hand Hygiene Policy; offensive tattoos must be covered; excessive jewelry is not permitted
- Candidates must not have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
- Candidates cannot be employed full-time elsewhere during the assignment
- This position is located in Marquette, MI, the largest community in Michigan's Upper Peninsula and home to Northern Michigan University
