Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a high-acuity Emergency Department float pool position at a Level 1 trauma center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ED experience in a similarly sized trauma facility.

Details

• 12-hour day shifts, 3 shifts per week
• Primarily assigned to the ED to care for boarder patients, who may include med/surg, stepdown, or ICU-level patients
• Floating to other acute care units may be required as needed
• Block scheduling is not approved on most units
• Travelers are expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and TNCC
• Minimum 2 years of ED experience in a similarly sized Level 1 trauma center
• Experience in high-volume, high-acuity trauma environments with complex and diverse cases
• Proven ability to manage critical, fast-paced clinical situations
• ED skills checklist matching the specialty required
• Resume with no unexplained employment gaps required
• ED-specific professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

• This is a very busy, high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center — candidates must have a strong background in large-scale, high-volume trauma settings
• Candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals will not be considered
• Local candidates are accepted for this position
