Description
American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Rehabilitation Med/Surg unit in Wichita, KS, requiring at least 1 year of acute care Med/Surg experience and a valid KS or compact RN license.
Details
- 41-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit in Wichita, KS
- Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- 13-week contract
- Staffing mix includes RNs and LPNs across day and night shifts
- Patient ratio of 1:6
- Equipment includes patient lifts, iSTAT, glucometer, and wound vac systems; administration of inhalers and breathing treatments is performed on the unit
- Telemetry patients are present; candidates must be able to pass an Airstrip telemetry competency
- EMR: Meditech
Requirements
- Active KS RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Minimum 1 year of recent acute care hospital Med/Surg experience
- Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration — Canadian SSNs are not accepted
- One professional reference required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include lab draws, IV antibiotics, IV medication administration, blood administration as needed, and head-to-toe assessments
- RNs assist in carrying out rehabilitation care plans established by an interdisciplinary team
- Patient and family education on care plans and rehabilitation programs is a key part of the role
- CRRN certification is preferred
- Knowledge of Quality Indicator scoring in a post-acute setting is preferred
- ACLS certification is preferred
