Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a 13-week day shift travel contract in Washington State, requiring an active WA or compact RN license and at least one year of ICU or acute care RN experience.
Details
- Day shift schedule in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) setting
- Serves a mixed patient population including critically ill adults, with exposure to total joint replacement cases
- May be required to function as Charge Nurse, including patient assignment delegation, coordinating admissions/discharges/transfers, and serving as unit lead
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active WA State or compact RN license required
- BLS (Healthcare Provider level, AHA or equivalent) required
- ACLS required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire
- PALS required or must be obtained within 12 months of hire
- PEARS required or must be obtained within 12 months of hire
- TNCC required or must be obtained within 12 months of hire
- Moderate sedation training required or must be completed within 12 months of hire
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience preferred, with ICU or specialty nursing experience strongly preferred
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing required
- Ability to perform frequent standing, walking, lifting, and physical demands including lifting/carrying up to 30 lbs and assisting with patients up to 300 lbs
- Physical stamina to perform CPR and manage multiple lines, tubes, and equipment over 8–12 hour shifts
- RN-C certification preferred
Additional Information
- Responsible for full nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of assigned ICU patients
- Documents patient care via electronic medical records (EMR) and/or paper processes per regulatory requirements
- Works closely with physicians, clinicians, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Reports to Nursing Department Director, House Supervisor, and Charge Nurse as designated
- Total Joint Program participation includes 4 hours of orientation training and 4 hours of annual continuing education
- Up to 4 hours of continuing education required annually for total joint program compliance
- Facility may cancel up to 2 shifts per month or up to 6 shifts over the course of the 13-week assignment
