Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg position requiring a current NY RN license, coronary care experience, and at least one completed travel assignment.
Details
- Position is located in the SAM-4 Pavilion Med/Surg unit of a hospital setting
- Night shift schedule, 7p–7a, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week
- Weekend and holiday coverage required
- Floating required to Med/Surg and PCU
- No on-call responsibilities
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active NY RN license currently in hand
- Current BLS certification (or must be obtained within 3 months of hire)
- Coronary care experience required
- Prior hospital RN experience preferred
- Comfortable floating to Med/Surg and PCU units
- Must have completed at least one successful travel assignment — first-time travelers will not be considered
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Strong clinical assessment skills with the ability to identify and address patient needs including clinical, educational, and psychosocial needs
- Ability to safely assess and implement patient lifts and mobility techniques
- Strong leadership, prioritization, and delegation skills
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills
Additional Information
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible — no local candidates accepted
- May be required to assume charge nurse duties
- Two references from a Charge RN, Supervisor, or Manager are required for consideration — references must be from the past year and within the same specialty
- Must be able to function effectively in high-stress situations and demonstrate creative problem-solving skills
