Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg position requiring a current NY RN license, coronary care experience, and at least one completed travel assignment.

Details

• Position is located in the SAM-4 Pavilion Med/Surg unit of a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule, 7p–7a, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week
• Weekend and holiday coverage required
• Floating required to Med/Surg and PCU
• No on-call responsibilities
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active NY RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification (or must be obtained within 3 months of hire)
• Coronary care experience required
• Prior hospital RN experience preferred
• Comfortable floating to Med/Surg and PCU units
• Must have completed at least one successful travel assignment — first-time travelers will not be considered
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Strong clinical assessment skills with the ability to identify and address patient needs including clinical, educational, and psychosocial needs
• Ability to safely assess and implement patient lifts and mobility techniques
• Strong leadership, prioritization, and delegation skills
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible — no local candidates accepted
• May be required to assume charge nurse duties
• Two references from a Charge RN, Supervisor, or Manager are required for consideration — references must be from the past year and within the same specialty
• Must be able to function effectively in high-stress situations and demonstrate creative problem-solving skills
