Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cath Lab/Vascular position at a Level III Trauma Teaching Hospital, requiring at least 1 year of Cath Lab experience and Epic proficiency.
Details
- Role is primarily Prep/Recovery-based but requires Cath Lab experience
- Unit consists of 12 Prep/Recovery beds, 2 Cath Lab rooms, 1 Vascular Lab, and 1 EP Lab
- Patient population includes cardiac, STEMI, AFib ablation, device placement, and vascular cases (lower extremity angiograms, PE, DVT, thrombolytics, EVAR, TAVR, carotid angiogram with stent, fistula creation, and more)
- Cath Lab cases include right and left heart cath with intervention, complex PCI, and pericardiocentesis — mostly radial with some femoral access
- 10-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM, 40 hours per week on a 4-week schedule cycle
- Weekend rotation is based on department needs and discussed during interview
- On-call required: 1-hour callback for Vascular cases, 30-minute callback for STEMI
- No floating required
- EMR: Epic (required); additional equipment includes Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, Philips monitors, Merge Hemo, and Siemens X-ray
- Facility is a Level III Trauma, teaching hospital with a Chest Pain/STEMI Center, Stroke Center of Excellence, Bariatric Center of Excellence, and 457 licensed beds
Requirements
- Active NC RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of Cath Lab experience required, with most recent experience within the last year
- Experience in a blended lab environment (Cath/EP/Vascular) strongly preferred
- Ability to circulate and monitor; must function independently in cases
- Strong IV skills and proficiency with sterile technique required
- Ability and willingness to take call required
- Ability to titrate medications including vasopressors required
- Cardiac rhythm interpretation and code response knowledge required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
- Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year, from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
Additional Information
- Candidate must permanently reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
- Orientation includes a New Employee Orientation (NEO), 2 days of departmental training with Epic training, and 1 day on the unit
- Travelers are expected to work 75% of assigned holidays
- Time off requests require manager approval
- Scrubs are provided by the facility

- Candidates who have previously worked a permanent position at an Advocate Health Southeast (AHSE) facility must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible
