Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (Cath Lab) position at a Magnet-designated Level I Trauma teaching hospital, requiring at least 1 year of Cath Lab experience and Epic proficiency.
Details
- Work setting is a large 874-licensed-bed, Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma teaching hospital with Chest Pain and Stroke Center designations
- Unit consists of 4 cardiac rooms and 3 vascular rooms
- Cardiac cases include NON-STEMI, STEMI, TAVR, Watchman, and Mitral Clip procedures
- Vascular cases include lower extremity angiograms, EVAR, and TEVAR
- Schedule is four 10-hour day shifts per week, 0730–1800, on a 4-week schedule cycle
- Hemodynamic monitoring system: Merge Hemo
- EMR: Epic (experience required); additional equipment includes Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, Philips monitors, Philips/GE/Siemens X-ray equipment, ISCV PACS, and Manifold
- On-call requirements vary by assignment: cardiac rotation includes one call night per week (30-minute response time) and every 5th weekend; vascular rotation includes two call weekdays and two weekends per month (1-hour response time)
- No floating required
Requirements
- Active NC or compact RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of Cath Lab experience required, with most recent experience within the last year
- Epic EMR experience required
- Proficiency in pre/post procedural documentation and hemodynamic monitoring
- Experience with management of vasopressors (pressors) required
- Must provide at least one professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
- Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
- Candidate's permanent address must be 50+ miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include pre/post patient documentation, charting in Epic, hemodynamic monitoring, and pressor management
- Department support includes a traffic flow coordinator, charge nurse, VAD team, RT for emergencies, ECMO team, and a code team
- Orientation includes 1 week before going on call, 2 days of departmental orientation, ACE modules, and Epic testing and modules
- Call schedule details and weekend rotation specifics are discussed during the interview process; a clinical manager interview is required
- Travelers are expected to cover at least one holiday during the contract if applicable; RTO requires manager approval and travelers may cover each other's time off
- Green scrubs are required and provided by the facility; parking is free
- Former permanent employees of any AHSE facility must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible
