Description
American Traveler is hiring a CT Scan Technologist (Inpatient) with a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience and trauma experience for a 13-week travel assignment at a Level II Trauma Center in Reno, NV.
Details
- Inpatient CT Scan department at a Level II Trauma Center — the only trauma center between Sacramento and Salt Lake City
- Facility serves over 80,000 ER and trauma patients annually and is home to a children's hospital, robotic surgery institute, and comprehensive neuroscience, heart, and cancer services
- Patient population includes neonatal, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
- Caseload includes ER, inpatient, and outpatient CT procedures, with advanced imaging for trauma, stroke, and Code Aorta cases
- Proficiency required with in-house CT scanning equipment and contrast injecting equipment
- Epic EMR used; training provided during orientation or candidates may test out
- 36-hour workweek schedule
- No call required
- Floating to other areas of the organization may be required within the candidate's competency level
- Minimum of 2 major holidays required during the contract
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in CT scanning
- Trauma experience required
- Travel experience required
- ARRT(R) and ARRT(CT) certifications required
- State of Nevada license for Medical Radiography required (license required if applicable)
- AHA BLS certification required
- Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- Produces diagnostic CT scans, assists the radiologist in CT scan procedures, and administers IV contrast materials under radiologist direction
- Responsible for coordination of daily workflow and throughput for ER, inpatient, and outpatient cases, including appropriate QC monitoring
- Must be able to manage care prioritization in a high-volume, rapidly changing environment
- Required to operate a variety of sophisticated CT imaging units and image storage systems
- Epic training provided during orientation; candidates may also test out of Epic training
- Blocked scheduling is not permitted
- Any requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of consideration; time is not added to the end of the contract to compensate for RTO
- Travelers who have previously worked at this facility must have a 13-week break after their last contract before returning, regardless of the number of prior extensions
