Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro Progressive Care Unit (NPCU) Stepdown position with required Cerner experience, working night shifts at a 355-bed hospital in Hickory, NC.

• Neuro Progressive Care Unit (NPCU) located on the 5th floor of a 355-bed hospital
• Patient population includes adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses such as stable post-stroke, stable neuro surgery, telemetry, and general medical cases
• Specialty mix includes neuro medical strokes, neuro-ortho surgeries, overflow telemetry, and medical patients
• 20-bed unit
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Float requirements include Medical, Telemetry, and Neon units
• EHR: Cerner (experience required)
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active NC or Compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• AHA certifications required (BLS at minimum; additional AHA certs as applicable to specialty)
• Cerner EHR experience required
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Care for adult and geriatric patients in a progressive care setting, including post-stroke, post-neuro surgery, telemetry, and medical overflow patients
• Facility is home to a Brain Center, Cancer Center, Heart Center, Lung Center, Orthopedics, General & Vascular Surgery, Surgical Weight Loss, Women's Center, and Level 3 NICU
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Candidates who are employed full-time elsewhere are not eligible
