Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Pediatric Acute Care RN for a 13-week day shift travel assignment at a JCAHO-accredited regional health center in Northwestern Arizona serving the Navajo, Hopi, and Southern Paiute communities.

- Pediatric acute care unit within a 73-bed JCAHO-accredited regional hospital
- Day shift schedule: 0600–1830, 7 shifts per pay period (36 hours/week)
- 13-week assignment in a rural Northwestern Arizona community on the Colorado Plateau
- Facility serves a 4,400 square mile area and acts as a referral center for the western Navajo and Hopi Reservations
- Comprehensive services include inpatient/outpatient emergency, orthopedics, OB/GYN, oral surgery, ophthalmology, and urological procedures
Requirements
- Active AZ RN license or compact RN license required
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing required
- Minimum 3 years of pediatric nursing experience required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (American Heart Association) required
- Current NIHSS certification required
- P-CAR (Complete Pediatric Trauma Care After Resuscitation) must be completed within 6 months of hire
- SSN required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provides professional nursing care to pediatric patients and their families, following physician orders, standards of care, and hospital policies
- Orientation is held every 2 weeks
- COVID and flu vaccine exemptions may be accepted upon submission of a declination form
- Fingerprinting is required prior to start and is completed during the compliance process via mail
- This position is located in a very rural area with limited housing options; shared housing units are available at $600/month based on availability — no family members or pets permitted
- Housing application must be submitted 2 weeks prior to start date
- The facility serves a culturally diverse community including Navajo, Hopi, Southern Paiute, Anglo, Hispanic, and African American residents
