Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position on a 7 East Medical Admit Unit, working night shifts (4x12s) with a minimum of 2 years of telemetry experience required.
Details
- Located on the 7 East Medical Admit Unit of an acute care hospital in St. Louis, MO
- Patient population is 50% medical and 50% telemetry, adults only
- Patient ratios are estimated at 4-6:1
- Standard telemetry unit nursing equipment utilized
- EMR: Epic
- Night shift schedule, 4x12s (19:00–07:00)
- 13-week contract with the possibility of extension up to 26 weeks
- Every other full weekend (Saturday and Sunday) required unless otherwise approved
- Float to similar or lower acuity units as needed
- No on-call requirements
Requirements
- Active RN license — must meet eligibility requirements for licensure in Missouri or hold a current MO or compact RN license
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA required
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
- Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment unless documented renewal is scheduled
- Minimum 2 years of telemetry (tele) experience required
- Valid U.S. Social Security Number required — Canadian SINs are not accepted
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include direct patient care activities such as assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for adult patients
- Coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes
- Night shift orientation takes place on day shift — candidate must be available the entire orientation week
- Black scrubs required
- Flu vaccination (or a Mercy-approved exemption) is required for all travelers from November 1 through April 1 — declinations are not accepted
- Up to 5 days of RTO allowed per 13-week period; any time off must be made up during the assignment
- Candidates should expect to work at least one major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's Day)
- Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but subject to a reduced bill rate
- No gaps in employment of 90 or more days within the past 12 months
- A manager interview will be conducted within 24 hours of offer — all offers are subject to final manager approval
