Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Interventional Radiology position at a quaternary care teaching hospital, requiring PICC/Midline proficiency, moderate sedation administration, and an active NJ or Compact RN license.
Details
- Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts (9:00–17:30)
- 13-week travel contract
- Interventional Radiology unit within a 665-bed quaternary care teaching hospital
- High-acuity patient population including cardiac and transplant cases
- Procedures include vascular, oncologic, and complex minimally invasive, image-guided interventions such as TIPS, chemoembolization, liver biopsy/ablation, pulmonary angiography/embolization, lung biopsy, chest tube placement, nephrostomy, and uterine arterial embolization
- Responsibilities include circulating IR procedures, administering and monitoring moderate/procedural sedation, central line and vascular access management, and pre/post-procedure care
- Epic EMR experience required
- Every other weekend required
- On-call required every 3rd week, Monday through Sunday
- Floating within skillset required without exception; ratios vary based on census, acuity, and staffing
- Holiday coverage required (must work 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 holidays per unit needs)
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
Requirements
- Active NJ or Compact RN license currently in hand
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Proficiency with PICC and Midline insertion and care required
- Experience administering and monitoring moderate sedation required
- Procedural/circulating experience in OR or CVOR preferred; ICU/CCU background without procedural experience is not sufficient
- Cath Lab experience a plus
- Skills should include central venous access management, implanted port access, IV therapy, infusion pumps, blood product administration, thoracic aortography, end-tidal CO2 monitoring, and radiation/laser safety
- Epic EMR experience required
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Two current professional references required for consideration

- Part of RWJBarnabas Health, New Jersey's largest integrated healthcare system
- Former RWJBH employees (full-time or PRN) must have been separated from the health system for a minimum of 1 year before being eligible for a travel assignment
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- RTO and schedule requests must be submitted prior to offer; no requests will be approved after offer is extended
- Open or active background or license hits are not accepted
