Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced NICU RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Rochester, MN, requiring prior NICU experience and at least one year of travel nursing experience.

Details

  • Position is based in a hospital NICU setting
  • Day/Night rotation shifts available (0700-1930 and 1900-0730)
  • Block schedule: Thursday, Friday, and Saturday each week
  • 36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week
  • Epic EMR used for charting

Requirements

  • Active MN RN license required — no pending licenses accepted
  • Current BLS (AHA or American Red Cross) and NRP certifications required; certifications must not expire within 3 months of start date
  • Minimum 2 years of recent acute care nursing experience
  • Minimum 1 year of recent NICU RN experience required
  • Minimum 1 year of travel RN experience required; Rochester MN facilities additionally require at least 2 years of experience and/or 3 total prior travel assignments
  • Graduate of an accredited baccalaureate, associate, or diploma nursing program (ACEN or CCNE accredited); non-accredited graduates must have at least 1 year of RN experience within the last 5 years
  • COVID vaccination and booster required
  • Date of birth (DOB) required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Responsible for coordination of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient and family education, and care transitions
  • Functions within a professional nursing practice model with accountability for planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating all phases of patient care
  • Provides leadership through preceptor responsibilities, informal leadership roles, and quality improvement efforts
  • Delegates patient care based on skill level, experience, patient acuity, and available resources
  • May participate in committees or projects and is expected to demonstrate strong mentoring, teaching, and communication skills
  • The facility may cancel up to 3 shifts per 13-week assignment due to low census
  • Travelers may remain on assignment for up to one calendar year from their initial start date; a 30–60 day break is required before returning to a new assignment
