Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Unit (MSU) night shift position requiring comfort with both adult and pediatric patients and a minimum of 3 years of med-surg experience.
Details
- 20-bed Medical/Surgical Unit (MSU) serving both adult/geriatric and pediatric patients
- Non-COVID patient ratio is typically 4:1 with a maximum of 5:1; COVID patient ratio is typically 2:1 with a maximum of 3:1
- 12-hour night shifts with a variable weekly schedule (36 hours one week, 48 hours the next)
- Up to 1 on-call shift per week
- Must be flexible to work days, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Floating to other departments may be required based on qualifications, including taking a patient load or performing task-oriented duties such as answering call lights and phones
- May be assigned to assist with Flu Immunization clinic coverage as needed
Requirements
- Active AZ RN license or a Compact RN license currently in hand
- Current certifications required: BLS/BCLS (American Heart Association), ACLS, and PALS
- Minimum 3 years of med-surg experience required
- Minimum 1 year of pediatric experience required
- Must be comfortable caring for both adult and pediatric patient populations
Additional Information
- Provides inpatient nursing care to adult/geriatric and pediatric med-surg patients
- New Employee Orientation is held on Mondays only; missing the compliance deadline will result in being moved to the next scheduled orientation
- Travelers are expected to attend staff meetings
- No COVID vaccine requirement for this position
- Maximum of 2 shift call-offs permitted for the duration of the contract
- 13-week contract
