Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN - ECMO Specialist for a night shift CVICU/PICU float position requiring both adult and pediatric ECMO experience and Epic proficiency.
Details
- Night shift schedule: 7p–7:30a (3x12 nights)
- Float required between the CVICU and PICU units
- Patient population includes post-cardiac surgery, cardiogenic shock, traumatic injury, ARDS/respiratory failure, and other critical acute illnesses requiring ECMO support — across both adult and pediatric populations
- Specialized procedures include managing the ECMO device during bedside ECMO cannulation and/or cannula repositioning
- Equipment used: Cardiohelp ECMO console, Centrimag ECMO console, Cardio Quip heater-cooler unit, and glucometer (point-of-care testing)
- Epic EMR experience required (1-year minimum)
- Every other weekend required, though scheduling may adjust based on unit needs
Requirements
- Active SC RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
- ECMO specialty device course completion and required CMEs to maintain ECMO proficiency
- Both adult and pediatric ICU experience required
- ECMO Specialist experience required
- Minimum 1 year of recent ECMO unit experience
- Minimum 1 year of Epic EMR experience
- Social Security Number and Driver's License required for consideration
Additional Information
- Travelers work alongside ICU RNs and RTs, with primary responsibility for ECMO device management in the ICU, following the ECMO order set and provider team direction
- Floats will only be assigned to units where competencies have already been demonstrated and documented
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the Prisma Greenville flagship campus to be eligible for this position
