Description
American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a PACU position at a hospital in Fort Worth, TX, requiring at least 1 year of PACU or ICU experience and ACLS certification.
Details
- Located in the Recovery Room (PACU) on the 2nd floor of the main hospital building, adjacent to the OR
- 26-bed PACU unit serving a diverse surgical patient population including general, neuro, oncology, orthopedics, and vascular cases
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Charting is performed in Meditech
- Day shift includes a charge nurse and typically a float nurse; night shift operates on-call with 2 PACU nurses
- Shift hours are 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM
- On-call responsibilities required, including one weekend and one night per week
- Floating to Day Surgery may be required
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active TX RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- ACLS certification required (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the start date)
- Minimum 1 year of recent PACU or ICU experience required
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

- Provides post-anesthesia recovery care for a wide variety of surgical patients across general, neuro, oncology, orthopedic, and vascular specialties
- Follows ASPAN guidelines for post-anesthesia nursing practice
- Royal blue scrubs or hospital-provided scrubs required
- State-of-the-art equipment and a highly regarded nursing staff
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
