Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Long-Term Care (LTC) position at a Critical Access Hospital-affiliated nursing home in Minnesota, requiring at least 1 year of nursing experience and an active MN RN license.

Details

• Work setting is a 38-bed nursing home attached to a Critical Access Hospital (CAH), with access to an ER, imaging, pharmacy, therapy, and walk-in clinic on site
• Day shift, 8-hour shifts
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday required
• Patient population includes residents with COPD, dementia, Parkinson's, MS, and CHF
• Day/Evening shift ratio: 1 RN, 2–3 CNAs, and 20 residents; NOC shift ratio: 1 RN, 2–3 CNAs, and 40 residents
• Charting system: Point Click Care (PCC)
• Medication dispensing via blister pack cards; on-site pharmacy available
• No IV or titratable drip responsibilities
• No floating requirements
• Block scheduling available based on need
• No on-call or standby requirements

Requirements

• Active MN RN license (Standard or Compact) required; pending licenses not accepted
• Active BLS certification required; pending certifications not accepted
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Previous nursing home or LTC experience preferred
• Med pass and supervisory skills required
• Point Click Care (PCC) EMR experience preferred
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; a valid driver's license is used to verify permanent address
• Candidates may not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity-affiliated facility within the past year (candidates employed PRN through outside firms will be considered)
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Primary responsibilities include medication pass, wound care, Foley catheter care, ostomy care, and supervising CNAs/TMAs
• No IV or titratable drip duties; no strip reading required
• Physician available after hours
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Orientation is individualized, with as many shifts as needed to ensure unit readiness
• All requested time off must be submitted upfront; additional RTO will not be approved after consideration
