Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel MRI Technologist for a 13-week night shift contract at a Level I Trauma teaching hospital, with experience in a fast-paced, high-acuity imaging environment.
Details
- Work in the MRI department of a large acute care hospital (874 licensed beds) designated as a Level I Trauma Center, Level I Pediatric Trauma Center, Chest Pain Center, and Stroke Center
- Teaching hospital environment serving a diverse adult and pediatric patient population from the ED, ICUs, nursing units, and outpatient settings across the full spectrum of radiology exams
- Average of 40–45 patients per day
- 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week
- No floating required
- On-call is required and rotated fairly among full-time, part-time, PRN, and travel staff based on team size
- No rotation between weekday and weekend shifts — travelers remain on the assigned shift per contract
- Holiday coverage is expected unless time off is approved in advance
- RTO requires manager approval
- Uses Siemens 1.5T magnets and Epic EMR
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of MRI experience, with most recent experience within the last year
- ARRT(R) or NMTCB, and ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT required
- Active BLS required
- State license required if applicable
- Epic EMR experience
- Ability to work confidently in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment with strong communication and teamwork skills
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Last 4 digits of SSN and full DOB required for consideration
- Minimum of 1 professional reference dated within the past year, from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
Additional Information
- Perform MRI exams across a full spectrum of radiology diagnoses for adult and pediatric patients
- Department is supported by a lead tech, modality supervisor, and Imaging Manager, with a diverse team ranging from new grads to long-tenured staff
- Orientation includes a facility and departmental tour with introductions; departmental orientation is approximately 5 days but flexible based on traveler needs
- Black scrubs required
- Free parking available on-site across multiple parking decks
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates who have worked a permanent position at an AHSE facility must be separated for at least 1 year before being considered
