Description
American Traveler is hiring a Vascular Interventional Radiology Technologist with experience in IR procedures, Epic EMR, and Level 1 Trauma for a 13-week contract at an acute care hospital in Urbana, IL.
Details
- Vascular Interventional Radiology department within a Heart & Vascular Institute
- Patient population includes those requiring invasive cardiology and invasive radiology studies
- Procedures include peripheral vascular work, venous central lines, tube changes, embolization (venous and arterial), venous thrombectomy, dialysis access work (AV fistulas, tunneled dialysis catheters, peritoneal dialysis catheters), tube access and changes (G-tube, Chole, Neph, Biliary, abscess, SPC), and neuro cases (cerebral arterial/venous, kyphoplasty)
- Experience with Interventional Neurology is preferred
- Schedule is 4x9-hour day shifts, Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–5:00 PM
- Weekend and holiday on-call rotation required
- Epic EMR — experience required
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in a related field or Certificate in Radiologic Technology
- Current BLS and ACLS (American Heart Association)
- ARRT Radiography (R) certification
- IEMA Illinois Radiography License — license required if applicable
- Minimum 1 year of relevant Radiologic Technology experience in a procedural setting
- Experience with Epic EMR
- Level 1 Trauma experience
- Ability to work within and maintain a sterile field during procedures
- Skilled in procedure supply management and pulling supplies for cases
- Manual dexterity to handle small supplies
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to follow directions
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include assisting physicians with IR procedures, administering contrast material via existing IV or venipuncture, assessing patients for allergies, and accurately communicating intra-procedural medication doses and radiation/sponge/sharp counts to the procedural nurse
- Responsible for checking patient and chart identification, diagnosis, and treatment positioning prior to procedures
- Compiles pertinent clinical information including lab and pathology data
- Assists with inventory and supply management for the department
- May assist in the orientation and instruction of new staff as needed
- Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- RTO is not to exceed 7 days per 13-week contract
- Contingent workers may not remain on continuous assignment for more than 1 year at this health system; a 6-month break in service is required before returning after reaching the 1-year mark
