Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position in Carlsbad, NM, requiring 2+ years of ED experience, TNCC and ENPC certifications, and nightshift availability.
Details
- Emergency Department at a Level 3 Trauma Center
- Night shift schedule: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
- 13-week contract
- Patient ratio of 4:1
- Floating is required
- On-call requirement: must be available at least 2 hours prior to shift start
- EMR: MedHost (EDIS)
- Blocked scheduling is not approved
Requirements
- Active NM or Compact RN license required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and ENPC — none may expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start date
- NRP preferred
- Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department RN experience required
- No employment gaps of 90 days or more in the past 12 months
- Valid driver's license required for consideration
- US Social Security Number required
Additional Information
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local travelers are not accepted
- Fingerprinting is required for all travelers working in New Mexico; this process can take several weeks
- RTO is limited to 1 request per 6-week schedule, and requests must be less than 1 week in duration
- RTO blackout periods apply for 1 summer and 1 winter holiday, dependent on department needs
- Candidates who have worked at any CHS facility as permanent staff within the past 2 years are not eligible for this position
- No specific scrub color required — full uniform expected
