Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position at a Level II Trauma hospital in Marquette, MI, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and working night shifts in an adult and geriatric care setting.
Details
- Located on the 6th floor of a 225-bed specialty care hospital with a Level II Trauma designation
- Acute Medical/Surgical unit serving adult and geriatric patients (ages 18+)
- Patient ratio of 5:1 to 6:1
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 13-week contract
- Rotating weekend shifts required
- Occasional floating to similar units
- Equipment includes telemetry monitors, Baxter IV pumps, Kangaroo pumps, bladder scanners, and Dynamaps
- Charting system: Cerner
Requirements
- Active Michigan RN license required
- Active American Heart Association (AHA) BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Strong critical thinking skills and ability to exercise decisive judgment with minimal supervision
- Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
- Must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate

- Hospital specialties include Heart & Vascular, Cancer Care, Brain & Spine, Rehab, Behavioral Health, Digestive Health, Bariatric Medicine, Women's Health, and Pediatrics
- Facility is located in Marquette, MI, the largest community in Michigan's Upper Peninsula and home to Northern Michigan University
- Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
- Candidates who are employed full-time elsewhere are not eligible
- Orientation is held bi-weekly
- Scrub color: Galaxy Blue (Navy is also acceptable)
- Fingernails must be kept clean and at a reasonable length per the Hand Hygiene Policy; offensive tattoos must be covered; excessive jewelry is not permitted
