Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a travel assignment requiring a minimum of 2 years of OR experience across multiple surgical specialties, including robotics, with an IN or Compact RN license in hand.
Details
- Hospital-based Operating Room setting with 24 OR suites and an average census of 70–80 cases
- Surgical specialties include General, Ortho, Robotics, GYN, Thoracic, ENT, Oral, Urology, Whipple, Plastics (free flap), and Liver resection
- DaVinci XI University robotic system is used in this OR
- Cerner EMR is used and experience is required
- Day shift, 4x10-hour schedule (10:45–21:45)
- Call requirement of 40–60 hours per 6-week schedule
- Floating within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate facility is required
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active IN or Compact RN license currently in hand; candidates who have submitted their fingerprint application package are also eligible
- Current BLS certification (AHA or RQI accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of OR experience, with all experience within the last 3 years
- Competency in circulating required
- Experience across multiple surgical specialties: General, Ortho, Robotics, GYN, Thoracic, ENT, Oral, Urology, Whipple, Plastics (free flap), and Liver resection
- Charge RN experience preferred
- Cerner charting experience required
- Nursing degree from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited program required
- 2 supervisor references required for consideration
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Indiana residents are considered local candidates; local candidates are accepted for Surgical Services positions at a modified pay package
- Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Former permanent or PRN employees of IU Health must have a 12-month break before applying as a traveler
- Current or past IU Health travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within IU Health are required to take a consecutive break to reset travel eligibility: out-of-state residents require a 90-day break and in-state residents require a 180-day break
- Up to 5 days of RTO can be auto-approved
