Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position at a Joint Commission accredited community hospital and regional referral center in Lake Havasu City, AZ, requiring at least 2 years of RN experience and telemetry skills.

Details

• 40-bed Medical Surgical Telemetry unit in a 171-bed community hospital and regional referral center
• Level III Trauma Center and Certified Chest Pain Center
• Adult and geriatric patient population, including total joint, surgical, ACS, CHF, CKD, alcohol withdrawal, SIRS, and GIB patients
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• 3x12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule period
• Floating to other units (IMC, ED) is expected
• Scheduled shifts may be flexed to on-call up to twice per contract as needed; no routine on-call requirement
• Equipment includes Baxter IV pumps, Posey bed/chair alarms, Omnicell drug dispensing cabinet, and Zoll defibrillators
• EMR: Medhost
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active AZ or Compact RN license required
• Certifications required: BLS and ACLS (AHA-issued)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience
• Recent acute care experience required
• Telemetry experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Ability to manage a 1:6 patient ratio
• Minimum education: ADN
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Care for a diverse medical-surgical telemetry population including post-surgical, cardiac, and complex chronic condition patients
• Preceptor and charge nurse experience is a plus
• Black scrubs (top and bottom) required; open-toed shoes are not permitted
• Candidates must live 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Candidates who are employed full-time elsewhere are not eligible
• No block schedule requests; requests for 48-hour weeks may be considered
• Located in Lake Havasu City, AZ — close to Las Vegas (2.5 hrs), Phoenix (3.25 hrs), and the Grand Canyon (3.5 hrs)
