American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position at an academic medical center in Washington, DC, requiring a minimum of 3 years of ER experience and Cerner proficiency.

• Fast-paced Emergency Department at an academic medical center in Washington, DC
• Diverse patient population including urgent care, psych, pediatric, and critical care/trauma patients
• Bedside trauma RN responsibilities required, including work in the trauma room
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Critical care skills utilized include medication titrations, arterial lines, mass transfusion of blood, and chest tube management
• Cerner EMR experience required
• 3x12-hour day shifts per week (36 hours/week)
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted DC RN license required (no pending licenses)
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC
• CPI certification required for this position
• Minimum 3 years of ER experience required, with at least 2 years in a US hospital setting
• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program required
• BSN highly desired
• Cerner EMR experience required
• US Social Security Number required
• Date of birth required for consideration
• Two manager or supervisor references preferred, verifying experience within the previous 12 months (at least one from most recent employer)

• Coordinates and delivers care to patients with complex nursing needs, ensuring safety, quality, and a positive patient experience
• Candidates must reside more than 25 miles from the facility to be eligible for this travel position
