Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Medical Unit (Med/Surg) night shift position in Hawaii, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and an active HI RN license.

Details

• Hospital-based Medical Unit with 77 beds
• Adult Med/Surg patient population
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6 on days and evenings, and 1:8 on nights
• Night shift schedule, working 36 hours per week following the first full week of orientation
• Various shift lengths and days required — flexibility is essential
• Equipment used includes Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vac, and chest tubes
• Meditech EMR experience is applicable to this role
• Floating may be required to the Laulima Unit and Cardiovascular Unit
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active HI RN license required by start of assignment — candidates without one must apply upon acceptance of offer
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

Additional Information

• Professional nursing attire required
• Orientation is provided for each unit prior to independent practice
• All travelers must report to Employee Health 48–72 hours prior to the start of the assignment — candidates should plan to arrive in Hawaii the Thursday before a Monday start to attend the Employee Health appointment on Friday morning
• Proof of flu vaccination (or a facility-approved medical or religious exception) is required prior to contract start — flu vaccination may be administered at the Employee Health clearance appointment
