Description
American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist for a weekend day shift position requiring ARRT certification in Radiologic Technology and the ability to perform both CT and X-ray procedures.
Details
- Outpatient radiology setting within a multi-facility health system
- Friday, Saturday, and Sunday shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM (3x12-hour shifts)
- 36 hours per week
- Must be able to perform X-ray in addition to CT imaging
- 2–3 call shifts every 6 weeks, which may require floating to other facilities within the health system
- Charting in Cerner
Requirements
- ARRT registration in Radiologic Technology required; ARRT registration in CT preferred
- Active SC or compact state license required (license required if applicable)
- Current AHA BLS certification required
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred
- Completion of an accredited CT program preferred
- High school diploma or GED required; graduate of an accredited Allied Health program preferred
- Ability to frequently stand, walk, lift/move patients, and handle up to 50 lbs intermittently
- Must be able to work in environments with radiation exposure, bloodborne pathogens, and infectious materials
Additional Information
- Performs CT examinations of designated anatomical areas under the medical supervision of certified radiologists following established protocols
- Assists radiologists during procedures and provides supervision and clinical education to student radiologic technologists
- Responsible for patient preparation, obtaining informed consent, and communicating discharge instructions to family members
- Ensures correct orders, diagnoses, and clinical history are accurately entered into the system, and communicates findings with the radiologist
- Adheres to ALARA radiation safety principles and follows DHEC, TJC, OSHA, and FDA standards and regulations
- Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
- Travelers may remain on assignment for up to one calendar year from the initial start date; a 30–60 day break is required before returning to a new assignment
